Dr. Kirstin Young:
I was born and raised in Phoenix, AZ and grew up with a menagerie of different animals. We had dogs, cats, ferrets, guinea pigs, rabbits, hamsters, an iguana and a pot bellied pig named Cleo. I have always had a great love of animals and people. This is what has driven me throughout my life to become a veterinarian. I wanted to foster that relationship people have with their pets. I knew by keeping their beloved pets happy and healthy that I would be helping people as well.
I graduated from the University of Arizona with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1993. I went on to attend Veterinary School at Colorado State University and graduated in 1997.
I spent my first 6 years as a veterinarian in Kingman, AZ where I really enjoyed getting to know some amazing people and their four-legged family members. I then relocated to Washington State with my husband and spent 9 years in Olympia. Although I really loved everything the Pacific Northwest had to offer, I knew that in my heart I was ready to come back home.
From the first moment I drove into Anthem in 2009, I knew this was where I wanted to raise my family. I fell in love with the small town atmosphere and tight community spirit that I saw every time I found an excuse to visit. I finally realized my dream early this year when my family found a house here in Anthem and opened Daisy Mountain Veterinary Hospital. My husband, Jeff, our 8 year old daughter, Hannah, and I have been welcomed into this community with open arms and know we have found our "forever home". I look forward to becoming your other family doctor!
